My lasts

So I have three children and my youngest is nearly 2. Everyone keeps asking me if I’m going to have more not going to lie I would love another but I till medical science evolves to where I can choose the sex of the baby and have another little girl then it’s a no. Don’t get me wrong my boys are amazing and I love them to pieces but I would like to give my daughter a sister. Anyway tonight I have realised that my baby is growing and I’ve had so many lasts.

His first teeth were my last first teeth his first steps his first hair cut. Him cuddling up to me to fall asleep will one day be the last time he will do it and I hate it.

I hate how quick the time goes with them growing up and I hate knowing I will have lasts with them all. Like the last day I will walk them to school or iron their uniforms.

It makes me very emotional knowing that they are growing up and far too quickly I will miss their cuddles having to do things for them. So to all those who have children embrace them make memories because you can’t go back and re do their child hood.

Nappies and wipes

Anyone else get so frustrated when deciding which nappies or wipes to use?

Over the last six years I’ve used several brands and have had some good ones and some bad ones.

I was one of them mums who always had to use name branded nappies or wipes my second born used branded products until my third born came and then I decided to put my second born in own branded pull up pants and use own branded wipes. This was so we could save money and afford things like days out.

So the first brand I used was huggies and pampers. Huggies were discontinued so I changed to pampers. Huggies were brilliant and I loved them and would have continued using them now if they were still around. I’m sure I could find them online but that’s a setback if you run out and couldn’t just nip to your local supermarket or corner shop to pick some up.

Pampers were great however using them on my third born recently I feel they have gone down hill as they seem to leak more than they used to. When I first had them they were the best. Nothing else was going to get used pampers nappies and wipes were the only product getting used in the house and that was that. The wipes were the ones that smelt like talcum powder I loved them then and still do now.

When my second came on I still wanted to use pampers and did for as long as I can remember but I also compromised on the wipes and tried huggies, Johnson’s and own branded.

While the huggies wipes were brilliant they were very dry which was perfect for mucky faces but not great for delicate bums. Own branded wipes like little Angels and Morrison’s own brand nutmeg are really good however the smell the pampers have still was and are the best. Johnson’s wipes come in a close second for the wetness and sensitivity but again just don’t have that smell.

I also tried own branded swimming nappies. I find the name branded ones extremely expensive for what you get and not worth what you do pay when the own branded ones are the exact same.

Now having two in nappies at one point my third born got a bit of a rough deal when he first came along. His brother was in pull up pants but was two months shy of 2 so we hadn’t tried to potty train at that time. I stocked up on Morrison’s own branded nappies and wipes. I’ve recently swapped to lidl own nappies but have gone back to my beloved pampers wipes. The Morrison’s own nappies are brilliant and I have no objections to them but now having three little humans to take places and pay for different clubs and all the clothes they seem to outgrow so quickly lidl own are top for price by just a few pence.

Now I know from experience what me and my family prefer especially for nappies and wipes and testing out different brands as been hit and miss over the years. My advice for any new mum or mum to be first time or not. Get opinions from other people don’t listen to all negatives but positives as well and test them out what might work for one person might not work for you.

Remember we are all different and have different likes and dislikes, just because someone doesn’t agree with your opinion doesn’t mean their wrong.

Take care and keep being you 😘

Dummy review

There are so many brands out there. It’s hard to know what to choose from. It doesn’t matter what you need or want there are always thousands of brands who all claim the same things so how do you know which is right for you? This post will review dummy brands that I have personally used over the last 6 years and that I am currently using now with my youngest.

To be clear this is not an ad for any brands mentioned this is my own personal view on what worked for me and my children and what didn’t. My eldest didn’t prefer any brand to another she was happy with any from tommee tippee to Morrison’s own.

The same for middle child any dummy was fine. From the beginning I used tommee tippee however my second got a bit of a rough deal as most second children do. We didn’t stick to the branded ones as it was cheaper to buy the own brands and it really didn’t matter as long as he had it in his mouth.

Our third was more difficult as he didn’t like certain teat shapes. This was due to a very severe tongue tie. We bought several different brands and tried each with him. The one that worked and he has had ever since was from nuk.

Now I have no bad experience with any brands however I do feel that the named brands are better than the none branded as they last longer. The brands I used most were nuk and tommee tippee.

However the own branded ones are cheap and wonderful if your out and forgotten one.

I would definitely recommend nuk and tommee tippee. As these are the main ones I’ve used.

Tommee tippee is a great brand has several different colours is available for different age range 0-6 6-18. It also does some for night time which glow in the dark it makes them easier to find in the middle of the night when baby is crying.

I used to love the different patterns on them and allowing the kids to choose the ones they liked.

Nuk is also a fantastic brand for children with tongue ties. The teat is smaller than other brands and they do a premature age range which was fantastic for my little one. The one issue I have is I haven’t found a glow in the dark one this maybe available somewhere but I’m unable to find one.

Over all these two brands are fantastic for all babies of different age ranges and suitable from birth.

Always pick what is best for you and your family, if one doesn’t work try another until you find a perfect fit. Not everyone is the same and not everything is to everyone’s taste.

Until next time take care 😘
